I’ve come to realize that freedom is so simplistically beautiful. It isn’t

something that I HAVE, but rather something that I AM. I. AM. FREE. Freedom

is walking in the bold realization that I am not my own, but rather a daughter of

the most high King. Freedom is finding belonging within the body of Christ and

surrendering to the fact that I wasn’t designed to fulfill every part that makes up

that body. Freedom is discovering that I bring something to the table that is

original and unique to the way Papa designed me, just as every one of His

children does. Freedom is learning to love my quirks and flaws, and finding

beauty in my messy hair and makeup-less face. Freedom is tear-stained cheeks

brought upon by starring at the goodness of a sunshine-filled afternoon that Papa

made. Freedom can be found in both the grand and the minuscule, the audacious

and the silent. Freedom is embracing that quiet, that stillness, that

breathtakingly, BEAUTIFUL inner peace. Freedom is chains being broken from a

disease that has plagued my mind, body, and soul since I was 11 years old.

Freedom is finding healing from the wrath of an eating disorder, and knowing that

that healing wasnt just physically, it wasn’t just mentally, and it wasn’t just

spiritually, but rather a complete and utter healing unlike anything I’ve ever

known or experienced. Freedom is feeling light and untethered, as if I could

float away because there is no longer anything weighing me down. What does

freedom look like for me today? Freedom is being able to enjoy (and I TRULY

mean enjoy) a scoop of pistachio ice cream. I  love the peaceful quiet, I love this

newfound, CONSTANT freedom, and boy do I love ice cream.
