Wishing you a big, beautiful “hello” all the way from CAMBODIA!!! Want to learn how to say “hello” in Khmer (pronounced kuh-my), aka the language spoken here in Cambodia… OF COURSE YOU DO!!! Suostei!! I highly recommend you download the free Google Translate App (what I use while on the Race) to look up words I’ll be sharing with you over the course of these 9 months, such as this one!! With that being said…

   SUOSTEI from Phnom Penh, Cambodia!!

We left Gainesville to head to the Atlanta airport around 10:30pm on Friday evening, 10/14/2022 to begin our very first Travel Day(s). 6:25am on Saturday morning, the 15th, we boarded our flight from Atlanta to Phoenix, Arizona. We then flew from Phoenix to San Francisco where we had an extended layover, which meant that we were able to have the day to explore the city!! I had never been to San Francisco before, so I was very excited for this opportunity!! I got to go to the wharf and see Pier 39 where the famous sea lions hang out!! I was also able to see The Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island from the Pier! I didn’t get to do everything I wanted in San Francisco, but even so I am SO THANKFUL for everything that I got to do and so hopeful that I’ll be back again someday!!

We then made our way back to the San Francisco airport to board our 13 and a half hour flight to Taipei, Taiwan that left at 1am. We made it to Taiwan at 5:30am and it felt like we were time travelers because we basically “skipped” Sunday due to switching time zones and all the time we spent in the air. After a brief layover in Taiwan, we boarded our fourth and FINAL flight to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, arriving at 11:15am on Monday, October 17th!

I am currently writing you this blog at 10am on Wednesday, October 19th, but I probably won’t send it out to you all because most of you are already in bed seeing as it is 11pm EST. Nothing like a 13 hour time difference to keep you on your toes! Which means… that I’ll most likely post it this evening as I’m winding down for bed, and you all are getting ready to begin your Wednesday’s (I know, surreal right?!!).

We will leave Phnom Penh tomorrow at 11am via a 6-7 hour bus ride to head to our ministry destination in Siem Reap, which means we will then have (officially) completed our first ever travel day(s) for this go-round of the Race!! Please pray for safe travels for this final leg of our travels and I will be sure to update you all just as soon as I’m able!!

We then will have orientation to begin ministry on Friday, October 21st!! I will be posting a blog all about what ministry will look like starting out here in Cambodia, so make sure to be on the lookout for that!! I love you all dearly and am truly blessed by your continued love and support more than I can even begin to express! Thank you for being along for this journey, I’m so very happy you’re here!!

All my love sent direct from Cambodia,
   Meagan!!
