Hello there, and welcome to my blog!
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Meagan Thompson. This blog post will tell you everything you need to know about me; things such as how old I am, what my favorite color is, and the fact that I’m a big time Musical Theatre nerd.
I am 23 years old (see there, I’ve already answered your first question and we’re only four sentences in). I have a mom and a dad, and two incredible little sisters named Sarah and Maddie. Much like Angelica Schuyler, “I love my sisters more than anything in this life,” and they are my best friends. I already admitted that I’m a huge Musical Theatre nerd, so I hope you’re okay with me sprinkling in musical quotes here and there. Can anyone tell me what musical Angelica Schuyler and the rest of The Schuyler sisters can be found in? Anyone at all? Yes you sir in the back, the tall fellow with glasses. “Hamilton,” you say? Well you are correct! I also must admit that I tweaked a song from The King and I to get my title for this blog. I graduated in May of 2016 with my Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre Performance. I know I know, you’re shocked at my degree choice. After graduating from college I moved to Chicago, Illinois to further my schooling and training in the field of comedy. I learned all about improvisation, sketch comedy, writing, musical improvisation, and many other comedic devices as well. Just in case you were curious as to what my favorite TV show is, it is indeed Saturday Night Live. My favorite cast member on the current season is the INCREDIBLE Kate McKinnon.
The time has come to hit you with “a few of my favorite things” (sorry I couldn’t resist). My favorite color always has been and always will be green. My favorite flowers are sunflowers. My favorite season of the year is fall, and because I’m basically an elf my favorite holiday is CHRISTMAS!! My favorite bible verse is Proverbs 27:2 which says, “Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.” I love to read, write, and play my ukulele. I love being outdoors and getting to go on adventures!
