A Romanian Recap!!

I know, I know. You’re most likely saying to yourself, “but Meagan, you were in Romania back in May. It’s July!!” And yes you are correct, but I’ve had my recap blog written for a while and have just not had a chance to post it. So there’s no time like the present, ammirite??? I give you (a delayed) Romanian Recap!!!

Month 8: Romania!

This month was full of…

     Getting kicked out of KFC for stealing their WiFi… good times. There’s a Starbucks here!!! Why yes you may have heard of Disneyland, but have you ever been to Kaufland??? Rest. Downtime. Sleep. Wait… how long do concussion symptoms last?? Tent city!!! Well hellllloooo there team Schon-Con, it’s a pleasure doin’ life with ya! “Chili and cinnamon rolls is NOT a thing, stop trying to make it a thing!” CINCO DE MAYO!!!… “I’m sorry don’t you mean Chris Brown’s Birthday??” No WiFi. Wait, THERE’S WIFI HERE?!! The WiFi’s out again, someone go fix it. Aundraya locked the key inside… 2 words, banana bread. Impromptu jam sessions on the drums as we make up tribal dances, why not? EXTREME ping pong. Trips to the gym, lets get swole!! “Michelle, Kyndal and I are gonna help you prepare for soccer ministry…” Panda, panda, panda!! Oreos- double stuffed, mint, birthday party, white chocolate covered, dipped in peanut butter… Thank God I can have gluten again! Someday’s ministry looks like decorating a cake. Someday’s ministry looks like flying paper airplanes. Someday’s ministry looks like playing the piano at a barbecue. 

     Peace out Pitesti, and hellllooo Dragonesti!! My parents are here, “oh goody goody!” Mom, dad, welcome to The World Race. Kids ministry, prayer walks, passing out Bible’s, eyeglass ministry, and a dinner party to meet locals… let’s GO!!!! Dad, did you ever think in a million years that you’d have a conversation in Spanish with someone in a small village in Romania?? God is THE coolest!! I love you guys, see ya in 3 and half months! 

     Living out my dream of being Belle in a 4 story bookstore. Debrief. Debriefing team Sonshine. Debriefing the past couple months. Debriefing the good, the bad, and everything in between. Brit’s back!!! Let’s go eat ALLLLL the desert. Learning I’m an introvert. Designing my own tattoo. Meet my new team, drum roll please for… Team T(h)tee!! Sitting in brokenness. Facing and fighting anxiety head on because the Lord WILL fight for me, I need only to be still. Learning not to run from my pain, but rather facing it knowing that there is purpose for it. Claiming victory, claiming freedom, and claiming that my voice DOES matter! 

     Romania, thank you for reminding me that it’s in my weakest moments that Christ is magnified the most. Thank you for elevating my perspective on those things I am walking through. And thank you for providing me a month with which I’ll NEVER forget!!
