Hello my friends!!!
I am currently writing you this blog on Saturday, October 29th at 2pm which means that for most of you it’s about 3am and you’re (HOPEFULLY) sleeping soundly in your bed… Still can’t exactly wrap my mind around the fact that I’m 13 hours ahead, but love that it makes me feel like I’m getting to report back to y’all from the future!!
We just wrapped up our first full week of ministry and it was SO full, yet so, SO good!! We were serving within the village of Angkor Chum, and had the opportunity to go into even smaller towns within the village. Think of Angkor Chum as the equivalent of a county within the US and the several smaller subsets of “villages” we had the opportunity to go into as the several towns that make up that county!
Angkor Chum is about an hour and a half outside of Siem Reap so we are in a van for 3 hours a day, but it’s BEYOND worth it to be able to partner with our amazing ministry hosts and all the incredible work they’re doing in these villages to bring Kingdom here on earth!
Monday morning we were up bright and early to make the hour and a half drive by van into Angkor Chum where we got to meet the village chief before we would be allowed or welcomed into the villages to do any sort of work. He gave us his literal seal of approval, we gave him three fruit baskets, and then all took a photo together before we then made our way into the villages to assist in the ways being asked of us.
This week that looked like coming up with and performing a skit about the story of Adam and Eve, singing and dancing along with Khmer songs about the goodness of Jesus, free English classes offered for the children in the villages, house visits, LOTS of prayer, checking blood pressure levels for elders in the villages and providing medication when necessary, and we got to finish out this week of ministry with some beautiful spirit led interactions back here in Siem Reap all day yesterday! Like I said… SOOOO full AND so, SOOOO INCREDIBLY good!! I’ve see God’s faithfulness and goodness in both big and small ways this week and I’m just sitting in so much thankfulness that He has me here doing the work before me!
I love my team and that they call me their “team mom.” I love that I’m back in what was my favorite country from when I did the Race. I love the ministry opportunities I was able to be a part of this week. And I LOVE my Heavenly Father, who loves and pursues me so beautifully! _________________________________________________________________
