Month 4: VIETNAM!
This month was full of…
Goooooooodd Mornnninnngggg VIETNAM!! We made it… wait not yet, still not yet, STILL not yet… okay NOW we made it!! “Rain rain go away that’s what all my teammates say.” Rice noodles, rice crackers, rice dumplings, rice… rice. Do we have any idea what we just ate?! (please don’t be dog, please don’t be dog, PLEASE don’t be dog)… ignorance is bliss I suppose. *LAlaLAlaLAla* (widely staring back at me) “You know Vietnamese???” “No sorry, I was just mimicking that bus…” Egg Coffee, coconut coffee, are you surrreeee Vietnamese coffee isn’t just alcohol?!! We live in Taiwan… nope, Ted Nugent… still not right, oh Thái Nguyên… CRUSHED IT! VIET-MY-KNESS!!! “Let it go, let it go.” The teachers didn’t like that… “LET IT GO!!!” No I’m sorry we can’t drive or ride on motos. No I’m sorry I can’t come spend the night at your house. No I’m sorry we can’t go with you to pee on the Chinese border… “Excuse me, are you the mayor?!?!!” Why are you here? We’re missio… we’re on a fishing trip, we’re fishermen. For ONE NIGHT ONLY making their Vietnam debut, see team Magic Treehouse in… the Church Clap. “What day is it?!?!!!” (GASPS) “I FORGOT MY SON!!!”
This month was full of asking the Lord. Asking Him each and everyday what He wanted it to look like. What He wanted us to say and do. No longer dreading feedback, being given it or giving it to others. Facing fears, facing my anxiety, and facing the girl staring back at me in the mirror to boldly declare to her that she IS fearfully and wonderfully made. God You taught me of Your boundless grace this month and Vietnam will forever hold a special place in my heart because of that.
