Good afternoon guys! Thanks for stopping by to check out today’s post. This blog will be #26 of the month! That is so absolutely crazy to think about, but I am so glad that I felt God lay this challenge on my heart because it has truly taught me so very much. If you’ve been with me since the beginning of September, WOW you are AWESOME and I can’t thank you enough!! If this is your first time checking out one of my blogs, WELCOME and be sure to subscribe so that you can receive updates any time I post! Please feel free to check out my other posts from this month after you finish up with this one! As always I would love if you left me a comment down below, and shared my blogs with anyone and everyone you know. Thanks guys, you’re the best!!

Last night I began pondering what I wanted to blog about today. God has taught me so incredibly much in this season of preparation for The World Race and I love when He lays certain things on my heart that He wants me to share with you. I kept thinking this crazy, awesome, super, incredible idea was just going to fly into my lap, so I waited… and I waited… and waited…

Today my sister and I went out to lunch together and I said to her, “I have absolutely NO idea what I should blog about today!!!” She kind of laughed and said, “you can blog about anything. You can blog about this. You can blog about what we did yesterday, anything at all.” It’s so funny because I’ve known this to be the truth all along, but for some reason the perfectionist side of me always thinks that if I’m going to blog and put it out there for anyone and everyone to read, than it must be perfect. The point of keeping this blog is not perfection. I’m not perfect, no where close to it actually, nor will I ever be. Not only that, but my blogs aren’t perfect, my writing’s not perfect, and you know what… that’s OKAY!!

God hasn’t asked me to blog so that people will say “WOW Meagan Thompson is a perfect writer,” because first and foremost it’s NOT about me! Yes He has given me this incredible platform, but it’s so that I may share the stories that He places before me and lays on my heart, so that ultimately I’m pointing straight back to Him. He has asked me to blog because it’s ministry. At Training Camp one of the speaker’s shared the phrase “Life is Ministry, and Ministry is Life!” This means that any and all areas of your life have the potential to be ministry! No matter what you’re doing, where you find yourself, or the current situation you are faced with… there IS a ministry opportunity in your midst.

I’m so incredibly blessed that He has given me blogging as a form of ministry. I love to write, I love to get to bring others alongside me on this journey, and I love that each and everyday He is teaching me something new and showing me things I’ve never seen and then asking me to share them with all of you. It is so beautiful and I couldn’t be more grateful. I wanted to be able to share some of the things God has taught me through my month of blogging so here is a list of my top 10…

10 Things God Taught me through Blogging:

1. God is GOOD even on the bad days. There are days that are hard, days when you feel as if life is getting the best of you, and days when blogging is the last thought on your mind. Even on these days we serve a good, GOOD Papa who will continue to be good today, tomorrow, and each and every day that follows.

2. Blogging from your phone is possible, but NOT ideal. Hey.. sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do!

3. Pictures really do say 1,000 words and people love when you are able to truly put them into the midst of your blog by including a photo!

4. God isn’t asking for perfection, He’s just asking that you’re obedient.

5. You truly can blog about ANYTHING

6. If your blog was only read by one person, that’s enough. Hey you’re not blogging in the hopes that millions upon millions of people are reading what you post, that my be cool, but God will make a way so that your post is read by that ONE individual who needed it the most.

7. In it’s own way, blogging is a form of fundraising. Some people donated to me who had never even met me before, the only way they knew me was from reading my blogs.

8.BLOGGING IS MINISTRY!!! Your words have such power and can carry so much weight. What you post in a blog may be the first and only time someone has read/heard about God and His goodness. Your posts have the power to bring others to Jesus!

9. Faithfulness is contagious. I’ve had individuals reach out to me because of my blogging and thank me for being faithful in saying “YES” to God by going on The Race and sharing about my experiences. Some of these individuals have also told me that after following along with my blogs, they felt God calling them to The Race as well and have begun filling out their own World Race applications!!! So SO EXCITING!!!

10. Why step outside of your comfort zone when you can be CATAPULTED outside of it?!! Sometimes God will ask you to share things that you never dreamed you would say to ANYONE for as long as you live. I never thought I would open up about my eating disorder, but here we here. God will help you share the difficult, you just have to be willing to say “yes” and be transparent if He asks you to do so. Who knows… you living boldly in the freedom He has given you may just be the spark to help set someone else FREE!

I love you guys more than I can say, and your ongoing prayers and support mean the world to me! Thank you!!
