Albania; Month 6!

This month was full of…

Team SONshine headcount! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5… We left Meagan in Turkey. Did you say Albania has the most coffee shops per capita in the world?!! *cue Lizzy McGuire soundtrack’s This is What Dreams Are Made Of!* Bedroom’s in the library, brooms in the tree, and the “club” is actually the kitchen. In regards to constant community- “yeah guys, I reach my maximum and then Satan takes over.” -Hannah. “Hey Barry, where’s this cute little cobble stone bridge???” “Oh you mean the one that sits on top of a sewer cesspool…” This grocery store has a GLUTEN FREE SECTION!!! Meggie, meet Meggie! 1 suflaque, hold the pita. *laughing at one of Barry’s jokes.* “and I didn’t even get a degree for that.” Barista Hannah! “WAS THAT A RAT?!!!” How do you say thank you? “follow me Derrick.” Oh yeah, “faleminderit.” And “good” is what? “the cat goes meow.” Oh yeahhh, “mirë.” Hey guys, there’s a sunflower! And another one!! And ANOTHER one!!! “I feel like I’m just constantly the trash can.” -Michelle. “Do any of your teammates have a background in theater, or music?” “Do they?!?!!!” You ARE enough! You’ve ALWAYS been enough! And you’ll ALWAYS be enough! “Meagan, you are a lobster among crabs.” -Sarah Ann. Burdens and loads my friends, burdens and loads. It’s cold outside… gelato team time it is!! “Dear Jesus, please heal Michelle’s giraffe neck!” -Meagan. Ladies, let’s talk boundaries!!! “HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY!!!” We’re out of groceries… Big Boy it is… I mean Big Bite! God gave me this image, NO idea what it means though. *different teammate chimes in* THAT WAS FOR ME!!! Hot chocolate equals pudding, and cacao equals hor chocolate. OH NO, ANOTHER RAT!!!!! Watching the sunset on the Mediterranean Sea, not too shabby. 70 cent gelato, count me in! Cable car ride to the top of the mountain. Deep breaths. Lots of deep breaths. ALL the deep breaths!! “MIRUPAFSHIM!”

Albania, you are a welcoming country with the most welcoming people. You made my transition to Europe a beautiful one and you made me feel right at home. This month has without a doubt provided the most growth that I’ve experienced thus far on The Race. I learned a lot about myself. Some incredible things and some really difficult truths to face, but through it all, I was met with nothing but grace from a Heavenly Father who loves me. Albania, thank you for helping me to grasp a greater understanding of God’s love, power, healing, mercy, freedom, and promises! It was truly a month I’ll never forget!

My squad and I are all currently in Belgrade, Serbia debriefing month 6 and preparing to head into our 7th month of The Race! This month my team and I will be serving at a church in Novi Sad, Serbia which is about 2 hours North of Belgrade. We will leave Wednesday to head to our ministry location so we can officially begin month 7!! Thank you for your continued love, support, and prayers! Sending love direct to you from Serbia!!

-Meagan!
